Combe Bank, based near Sevenoaks, is an independent school for girls aged from three to eighteen. The magnificent Grade I listed Palladian house, set in 27 acres of parkland, was built by Roger Morris in 1720. Interestingly, the house was once owned by Sir Robert Mond, a founder of ICI.
The school’s own works department undertook the project to restore the grand entrance, which was marred by dirty, peeling paintwork. The redecoration took place over the school summer holidays, and took the whole two months.
