Dulux Trade is principal choice for grand decoration
Hotel and conference venue operator Principal Hayley has specified intelligent, energy saving trade paint Ecosure Matt Light & Space from Dulux Trade for the redecoration of its recently acquired conferencing premises the stunning Grand Connaught Rooms at Covent Garden, London.
The Grand Connaught Rooms has a history dating back over 200 years and has hosted and entertained the world's leading politicians, royalty, dignitaries and celebrities. The 29 function room venue underwent a significant refurbishment during the summer and has now re-launched as a world class meeting location in the heart of Central London.
Ecosure Light & Space was specified for the Grand Connaught Rooms following a presentation by Dulux Trade Corporate Account Manager, Ian Matthews, to the design team at Principal Hayley and its architects, Charles Leon, which detailed the sustainability credentials, and energy and cost saving benefits, of the paint.
Originally developed with leading independent charity Forum for the Future, the Ecosure range of trade paints has 35 per cent less embodied carbon, and virtually zero VOC content. By combining it with the light reflective Light & Space colour range, the paint was the perfect choice for the sustainable decoration Principal Hayley Hotels and Conference Venues was looking for.
The use of Lumitec™ technology and high Light Reflectance Value (LRV) colours in the Dulux Trade Light & Space colour range ensures that light is reflected rather than absorbed, meaning it is distributed around a room more effectively, and less energy is needed to light a room.
The use of Light & Space trade paints can therefore lead to a significant reduction in energy costs up to 20 percent on average - which was a significant factor in the decision by Principal Hayley hotels to specify Ecosure Matt Light & Space.
