Set in 850 acres of country park and woodland, the 18th century Orangery is one of the most sought after establishments for wedding receptions and events due to its picturesque location and gothic style mansion. The prestigious location was officially opened by the Queen in 1977 and also hosted the 70th birthday party for the legendary actor Sir Anthony Hopkins. The refurbishment project required a durable and trustworthy paint brand fitting for the refurbishment of the Orangery's grand reception hall.
Dulux Trade Diamond Matt and Diamond Satinwood were recommended for the reception hall due to their tough, stain resistant properties and superior durability. The Dulux Trade Diamond Matt is ten times tougher and more stain resistant than standard silk emulsions and Diamond Satinwood is ten times tougher than conventional solvent based satinwood, making it perfect for the job. As the venue is used throughout the year, it was important to use a range of products that keep the high-traffic areas looking pristine, and reduce maintenance cycles at Margam Park to enable it to stay open for business throughout the wedding season, rather than closing for regular refurbishments.
Steve Smith, Senior Painting Supervisor at Neath and Port Talbot County Council, comments: "Margam Park Orangery is an extremely popular wedding and events venue, so it's crucial that we keep the venue in the best condition possible all year round.
We selected the Diamond range from Dulux Trade based on its reputation as the leading brand for durability. The products are designed to last for at least five years, without losing its attractive matt finish."
