Waterloo Housing Association picks Weathershield

Waterloo Housing Association has specified Dulux Trade Weathershield Opaque AP (Advanced Protection) and Dulux Trade Metalshield Gloss Finish to protect the exterior of its housing stock for longer.

Dulux Trade has won a five-year partnering agreement with Waterloo HA, a major provider of affordable homes in the Midlands. Recently completed was the decoration of 30-40 homes in Sunderton Road, Kings Heath.

Dulux Trade Weathershield Opaque AP was chosen to keep that just decorated look for longer. The high performance woodstain provides a water repellent satin finish and unique AP (advanced protection) technology means exterior joinery is protected from extreme weather for up to six years. The durable opaque woodstain was used in a variety of solid colours, from Monarch Red to Buttermilk, for the doors of the properties and exterior woodwork.

Karl Mullings, maintenance officer from Waterloo HA, is delighted with the results: "We specified Dulux Trade Weathershield Opaque because we wanted a product that would provide us with a superior levels of durability, in order for us to maximise maintenance cycles.”

Dulux Trade Metalshield Gloss Finish was specified for the same reason, and used in black for the railings surrounding the development in Sunderton Road. Specially formulated for metal applications, it provides up to eight years protection against corrosion.
